Yes, we all have heard about the red carpet, but what about the pink?! If your hitting a gala, a semi-formal event or party this spring, check out how to wear this season’s top fashion trends. These pictures are from my dear friend Harmony Dust’s gala for her non-profit organization Treasures.
Trends to Follow:
1.METALLICS: I love this picture of us! I helped style Harmony for this event. Metallic is a great way to stand-out in style. It was important for her to have a little shine and sparkle since she was the host and speaking on stage. I’m a big fan of ruching, the bunching up of fabric on her dress, too! This works for most body shapes, creating a flattering silhouette.
2.BLACK AND WHITE: My dress was a steal from TJ MAXX for only $29.99! Black and white don’t complement my skin tone. I made these colors work on me by going strapless, not having the colors by my face and adding a pop of peony pink with a statement necklace from Nordstom Rack for $15.00. Yep, my outfit cost less than $50.00!
3.POP OF BRIGHT COLOR: Pink is in style in all shades. Black is always a go-to color for all seasons and formal occasions. To lighten it up, this cute couple added just a “PEEK OF PINK”. Love these guys!
Denise, my fashionista gal pal, chose a eye-popping SPRINGTIME blazer over her black dress.
4.STAY TRUE TO YOU: When you look at each man’s suit, notice how they made it their own, remaining true to their personality. With slightly different variations; bow-ties, different shades of pink, pocket squares and even a blue sports jacket…these guys rocked it!
5.OVER-SIZED FLOWERS: Notice the over-sized floral pattern on my friend Chrissy’s dress(smack dab in the middle). Men and women are struttin’ this print. All the ladies pictured here look STUNNING!
Our group photo! We all came together to pull of this wonderful night. For more about how to help, donate or volunteer for Treasures please visit their site. Treasure’s mission is to restore women in the sex industry by the discovery of their value and purpose by providing mentorship, spiritual encouragement and resources in order to equip them to live healthy, flourishing lives.
PS. Harmony, you’re my GIRL in this life and the next. Friendship…10 years and counting!
